Sevilla!

Aqui estoy! Greetings from Seville. I'm sitting on the 2nd floor of one of the many language schools here in the City Centre of Seville, surrounded by hundreds of tiny winy alleyways leading me to lose my sense of orientation in minutes. It¡s quite nice and sunny now but the nights are still very chilly, brrrrr, need to wear my thick pajama and woollen socks and a fleece jacket. Yes, I am very sentivive to cold.

On Sunday afternoon we arrived at Malaga airport. The weather was fantastic and even Malaga was looking pretty as what. But as soon as the train started the 2,5 hours climb towards Seville the weather changed into rain and coldness - our little faces went apart from sleepy also to mildly upset. The marvellously green Teletubbie-styled hills disappeared and the endless tunnels and flat fields started or at least that was what we guessed to see through the thig fog.

We spent the first night in Spain in a flat of a Spanish lady in Triana quarter but that was not too nice place for a longer stay in my opinion. I prefer a little bit more privacy and a little less scarily waving bunk beds so yesterday we changed into a student flat just 10 minutes walk away from here.

I have already enjoyed a granizado in a floating terrace on the banks of the river Quadalquivivir (not sure about the spelling), couple of nice cold Cruz Campo beers, the best pizza in Spain ever and some tasty tortilla. The thing I am deeply missing is my poor old laptop - in the last minute I decided to leave it in Helsinki, God knows why, and now I am coming to notice the Cyber Cafes are starting to be as rare and vanishing commodity in Europe as are the Tall Ships, horse carriages and 10 kids families. #%%** how could I be so stupid. Oh well. I can. I can.

It's raining Leprechauns!

Wishes all the ex-Dubs and the rest of human population a nice Lá ’le Pádraig, colloquially Paddy's Day. Sláinte! Later probably heading to Molly Malone's to have a pint of Guinness.
[x] I have seen St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin.
[x] I have climbed Croagh Patrick .
[x] I have been to Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
[x] I know at least one Irish man called "Paddy".

Seville Dreaming

Went yesterday to a b-day party and as a result woke up with a massive headache (great punch!). Did some yin yoga at Shanti. Am still stressed, though. Have got 2 potential tenants, maybe... Hope it all goes well and Sevilla will be waiting for me fresh and pretty. And hope the tenant whom-ever-shall-it-be will not be a psycho and burn down all the house.
Friday was the 13th and Freddy was missing. No-show, no notice about whereabouts either. Bizarre co-incidence. Luckily it was not raining zombies, strongboxes, ladders, black cats and banana skins, Hallelujah.
Recently went to Cinema and saw an animated documentary of Lebanon war, Waltz with Bashir, highly recommendable. Also check out the Uzodinma Iweala novel Beasts of No Nation.

Mustnoteatburgersmustnoteatburgers

Happy to be home. Yesterday I had Marinara pizza at Mamma Rosa, watched Stella Polaris improvisation theater at Kaapelitehdas and ended up to Spring of Love Party at Pasifico.
Thinking of Burgers. Bad. Bad. Jogging is nice. Burgers are bad. Mustnoteatburgersmustnoteatburgersmustnoteatburgersmustnoteatburgersmustnoteatburgers. Would like to head to Vegemesta at Vaasankatu and have one of those delicious vegetarian burgers. Burgers. Burgers. Tofu Burgers. Soya Burgers. Hamburgers. One other day had a Kippari Soya Burger and howled it down, and had a 2 hours nap afterwards and oh boy that was a day. TomorroIwillstartadiettomorrowwillstartadiet. If I don't pass the cozy little Pelmenit at Kustaankatu and have some delicious Eastern style dumplings.

Friday Dreaming

Went to a housewarming party & danced @ Kuudes linja. Feeling happy and laZyyy now. Having wet hair which feels like a cold, slimy rat hanging on my shoulders. All good, except it's gonna be Monday tomorrow. O Friday where art thou? On Friday I was happily frying some Sweet Corn, listening Tom Verlaine and sipping some red wine. Life was good. Apart from once again I noticed half of the people I know seems to be pregnant. This age, this age... "Her friends are getting babies and she is just getting drunk." Cheers.

(Friday might be more like a state of mind, not an actual day.)
